When we heard that supermodel Naomi Campbell was arrested again, this time for the alleged assault with the deadly weapon known as a spit ball, our immediate reaction was, “And? ” After all, isn’t that what we expect from our SUPERmodels? Aren’t they supposed to be a little bit difficult? It’s what makes them fascinating, its wat makes them interesting, and its what makes them SUPERmodels.

No Catwalk, No Peace

This time it’s a spitball, last time it was a cellphone, next time it might be a small furry animal. So? Ordinary models don’t throw objects at their domestic servants or fight with the police for one very simple reason; they can’t afford to have domestic servants and to fight with the authorities! SUPERmodels. however, are given whatever they please, usually free of charge. Free drinks at Nellos, free cruises on Ron Peleman’s yachts, free designer bling at Barneys, Free Free Free. That way they have plenty of money left over to underpay their servants.

Looking fabulous all the time is very, very hard work indeed. You ordinary folks out there can only imagine how really really stressful that can be. So now get over yourselves and help us Free Naomi!

If being a supermodel is the female version of the American dream, then having plenty of SUPERmodels around is the male version.

Supermodel Naomi Campbell has been released on bail pending further inquiries after being questioned by police following her arrest at Heathrow airport on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.

Campbell left Heathrow shortly after midnight.

The 37-year-old British model, known for her fiery temper, was reportedly handcuffed on board a British Airways jet bound for the US.

Passengers watched as police officers boarded the flight after what witnesses said involved a dispute over luggage.

They said the model, who was discovered by a model agency in Covent Garden, central London, at the age of 15, was aggressive and abusive to staff and police.

A Scotland Yard spokesman said: “At 17.11 we were alerted to a disturbance at Terminal 5 where officers attended.

“Subsequently a 37-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer and taken to Heathrow police station.”

Passengers reported that Ms Campbell was aggressive and abusive to staff after there was reportedly an issue with the model’s luggage.

Her publicist, Selina Aponte, said she had been due to fly to Los Angeles but would not say what the purpose of her trip was.

She said: “We have all seen the reports but I don’t know anything. Naomi was flying to LA, she has family and friends over there and is always going over.”

Last year the Streatham-born model had to mop floors at New York’s Sanitation Department as a community service punishment for throwing a mobile phone at her maid.

The catwalk star spent five days mopping, sweeping and scrubbing toilets.

During the experience she wrote: “I find solace in sweeping. I have the time to think. Just have, you know, peace.”

She said she was considering therapy to control her temper.
